Trivia[]

  • On Floor 3, Olivia was the only unfortunate to vote for the saboteur which was Sophie and everyone else (Brandon and Sophie) voted for her.
  • This is the first episode to have the three most played games for each floor. Body Shock is the most played Floor 6 challenge (played 9 times), Freaky Factory is the most played Floor 5 challenge (played 12 times) and Extraction is the most played Floor 3 challenge (played 8 times). The exception was Green Fingers on Floor 4, which is the second most played Floor 4 challenge, behind Snake Attack (which appeared in 15 episodes).
  • The from London joke was used again in Series 2, Episode 4 (Castleford) for Andrew, Series 3, Episode 9 (Walton) for Emma, Series 3, Episode 10 (Hackney) for Dan, Series 3, Episode 12 (Glasgow) for Darcy and Series 4, Episode 11 (Livingston) for Martha. However, in Dan’s case, Gateshead is mentioned instead of London.
  • In the beginning of the cage sequence, Connor is wearing a different T-shirt.
  • First appearances of Body Shock, Green Fingers and Extraction
  • This is Faith Brown's first episode as the Voice. She will continue to portray the character till the final episode of the show.
  • At the end of Freaky Factory, the short tune that is used to indicate the challenge has finished does not play. This is noticed as the challenge finishes at the end of Freaky Factory's soundtrack.
  • Brandon is the only saboteur in Body Shock to escape the tower. He is also the only saboteur of the challenge in Series 2 to not have a name beginning with "J".
  • From this episode onward, the Unfortunates' name tags are written in all-upper case letters.
  • This episode introduces the new design for the Whisper Clips which now greater resemble large bat wings that fully cover the ear, as opposed to the older sea shell designs that only partially covered them. According to Samadul, one of the Unfortunates from Series 1, Episode 12 (Bow), he said in a YouTube comment that the original Whisper Clips had a design flaw and were faulty. Samadul mentioned that during filming of the episode, he was originally chosen as Saboteur for Snake Attack but because the others could hear The Voice speaking to him, they had to re-film the challenge and choose a new Saboteur (which ended up being Mitchell). It was likely due to this incident that the Whisper Clips were redesigned.
  • This episode also introduced a new design for the Key of Freedom.
  • During Extraction on Floor 3, when Sophie refused to pull a tooth out, the Voice calls her out for this, saying “Oh Sophie, you’re such a baby!”.
